Round-Up: End-of-Lacrosse-Season Gift Ideas

Lacrosse coach and player practicing boys lacrosse drill

As I write this (and enjoy an hour of quiet to myself at home), my daughter is off at practice with her dad, teammates, and coach. It feels like the spring sports season just began and I’ve only just started to embrace my new role as a “sports mom,” but really, the end of the season is already creeping up.

OK...OK. We do have about a month left, but it's hard to keep that in mind when I’m continually getting email reminders for summer camp registration (I’ll get to it when I get to it!) and the end-of-the-year school concert.

As this season draws to a close, I’m starting to think (or panic, as my husband would say) about that inevitable question that any rational newbie youth sports mom might have: what gift to buy for their child's coach??? My daughter adores her coach who lovingly volunteers his time to herd a bouncy first-time group of kindergarteners, and I want to make sure he knows he’s appreciated. And if you’re a coach, as most of our Swax Lax followers are, you’ll need to start thinking (not panicking) about what to give your players as a way to celebrate the end of the season.

Picks From Pinterest

Lucky for you, coaches, I’ve spent some obligatory time on Pinterest thinking this through a bit. I am, by the way, utterly and 100% obsessed with finding things on Pinterest. I have a legit problem — and it’s only getting worse with time. But this bodes well for you, as I’ve gathered some of my favorite gift ideas to say “thank you” to the kids who always go the extra mile for your team:

Lacrosse-shaped Pasta

Shaped like lacrosse players and nets, these are just silly and adorable. Made with 100% durum wheat and colors created from vegetable powders, players will get the pregame carb boost they need along with a little fun. I like this particularly for the little laxers out there.

Stickers

Who doesn’t like stickers? Simple, easy, and inexpensive. They’re great for kids to place on notebooks, folders, computers, lockers, bikes, etc. When I was growing up, my bike and journal and kaboodle and about everything else I could stick a sticker on was covered with my favorite stickers.

T-Shirts

I love these in particular, but there are so many different options out there to choose from for both boys and girls, and in varying price points. T-shirts are also great for lax moms and dads.

Lacrosse Training Balls

Swax Lax balls are the first and only lacrosse training balls that are the exact same size and weight as a regulation ball, only a lot softer. Developed by a longtime lacrosse coach, Swax Lax balls are great for beginners, indoor use, and goalie training. Coaches, parents, and players alike love these balls over the standard hard, rubber lacrosse balls because they offer the opportunity to learn and practice the sport with less fear and more confidence. (Swax Lax offers a special discount just for coaches!)

Stainless Steel Water Bottles

OK, this could get pricey if you were gifting one to each child, but I just had to throw these cute water bottles in! You can personalize them, and they’re also a great option for team moms and dads, coaches, and trainers.
